Product Description
Intended Use The Mercury (Water) Test Cassette is a rapid lateral flow immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of mercury ions (Hg) in fresh water and related liquid samples. It is intended for DIY at-home screening and field testing to determine whether mercury concentration exceeds the detection limit of 20 ppb. This product is for preliminary safety screening purposes only.
Mercury (Water) Test Cassette — Instructions for Use
Product Overview
-
Product Name: Mercury (Water) Test Cassette
-
Target Parameter: Mercury Ion (Hg)
-
Detection Limit: 20 ppb
-
Application: DIY at-home rapid testing for fresh water and related liquids.
Test Procedure
-
Sample Collection: Collect the fresh water sample in the provided micro vial/sample cup containing reagent. Mix thoroughly.
-
Draw Sample: Use the pipette to draw the liquid sample from the vial.
-
Add Sample: Transfer 2–3 drops of the liquid sample into the sample well marked “S” on the test cassette.
-
Wait: Allow the cassette to sit undisturbed at room temperature for 5–10 minutes.
Result Interpretation
-
Negative (Safe): Two distinct red lines appear — one in the Control region (C) and one in the Test region (T). Mercury concentration is below 20 ppb.
-
Positive (Mercury Detected): Only one red line appears in the Control region (C); no line appears in the Test region (T). Mercury concentration meets or exceeds 20 ppb.
-
Invalid: No line appears in the Control region (C), even if a line appears in the Test region (T). Repeat the test with a new cassette.
