Product Description
Intended Use
The Chromium (Water) Test Cassette is a rapid lateral flow immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of chromium ions ($\text{Cr}$) in fresh water and liquid samples. It is intended for DIY at-home screening and field testing to determine whether chromium concentration exceeds the detection limit of $50\text{ ppb}$. This product is for preliminary safety screening purposes only.
Product Overview
-
Product Name: Chromium (Water) Test Cassette
-
Target Parameter: Chromium Ion ($\text{Cr}$)
-
Detection Limit: $50\text{ ppb}$
-
Application: DIY at-home rapid testing for fresh water and related liquids.
Test Procedure
-
Sample Collection: Collect the fresh water sample in the provided sample cup/well.
-
Draw Sample: Use the pipette to draw the liquid sample from the cup.
-
Add Sample: Transfer 2–3 drops of the liquid sample into the sample well marked “S” on the test cassette.
-
Wait: Allow the cassette to sit undisturbed at room temperature for 5–10 minutes.
Result Interpretation
-
Negative (Safe): Two distinct red lines appear — one in the Control region (C) and one in the Test region (T). Chromium concentration is below $50\text{ ppb}$.
-
Positive (Chromium Detected): Only one red line appears in the Control region (C); no line appears in the Test region (T). Chromium concentration meets or exceeds $50\text{ ppb}$.
-
Invalid: No line appears in the Control region (C), even if a line appears in the Test region (T). Repeat the test with a new cassette.
