Product Description

  1. INTENDED USE

The fGIA/TRF Ag Rapid Test is a dual-target fluorescence immunoassay designed for the simultaneous detection and differentiation of:

  • Giardia intestinalis (common intestinal parasite)
  • Tritrichomonas foetus (a major cause of feline diarrhea)

in feline feces or rectal swab samples. This test assists veterinarians in:

  • Rapid diagnosis of chronic diarrhea or large bowel disease
  • Differential diagnosis between parasitic infections (Giardia vs. T. foetus)
  • Monitoring treatment efficacy post-antiprotozoal therapy

Note: For veterinary point-of-care use. Not for human diagnostics.

  1. TEST PRINCIPLE

Utilizing dual-channel fluorescence immunochromatography:

  1. Giardia Detection Channel
  1. Sandwich Assay:
    • Anti-Giardia monoclonal antibodies (test line) capture Giardia-specific antigens
    • Fluorescent nanoparticle-labeled antibodies form a sandwich complex
  1. T. foetus Detection Channel
    2. Competitive Assay:
  • T. foetus antigens compete with fluorescent analogs for antibody binding sites
  • Negative correlation between pathogen load and fluorescence intensity
  1. Detection:
    3. A handheld analyzer quantitatively measures:
  • Giardia: ≥85% sensitivity at 50 cysts/μL
  • T. foetus: ≥90% sensitivity at 10 organisms/μL
  1. Results in 12-15 minutes with automatic interpretation

Key Features:

  • Cross-reactivity Free: No interference between two pathogens
  • High Throughput: Compatible with batch testing (up to 10 samples/run)
  • Feline-Specific: Optimized for feline antigen epitopes

Storage: Keep test cassettes at 2-30°C. Use fresh samples (<2hrs at RT or <72hrs at 4°C).*
