Product Description
The FCoV Ag Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of Feline Coronavirus antigen in feline feces, serum, or plasma. This rapid diagnostic tool assists veterinarians in:
- Early screening for FCoV infection, including feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) suspects
- Differentiating FCoV shedding in multi-cat environments (catteries/shelters)
- Monitoring disease progression in conjunction with clinical signs and other diagnostics
Note: For veterinary in vitro diagnostic use only. A positive result should be interpreted with clinical findings as FCoV infection may be subclinical.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes a sandwich fluorescence immunoassay format with the following mechanism:
- Capture Phase:
- Monoclonal anti-FCoV antibodies are immobilized on the test membrane
- FCoV nucleocapsid antigens in the sample bind to these antibodies
- Detection Phase:
- Fluorescent nanoparticle-conjugated detector antibodies form complexes with captured antigens
- Unbound materials are washed away
- Signal Measurement:
- A portable fluorescence reader quantifies the specific signal at 650nm
- Results are displayed as positive/negative with semiquantitative index values
- Typical turnaround time: 10-15 minutes
Key Features:
✔ High sensitivity (detects ≥5×10³ TCID50/mL)
✔ No cross-reactivity with canine coronavirus or feline parvovirus
✔ Stable fluorescent labels resistant to sample matrix effects
✔ Room temperature storage (2-30°C) of test devices
Optimal performance requires fresh fecal samples (preferred) or properly stored serum collected during viremic phases.
