Product Description
- INTENDED USE
The CPIV Ag Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of Canine Parainfluenza Virus (CPIV) antigen in canine nasal swabs, conjunctival swabs, or tracheal wash samples. This test assists veterinarians in:
- Rapid diagnosis of CPIV infection in dogs with respiratory symptoms (e.g., coughing, nasal discharge, or kennel cough syndrome).
- Differentiation from other canine respiratory pathogens (e.g., Canine Distemper Virus, Bordetella bronchiseptica).
- Infection control in kennels, shelters, or multi-dog environments.
Note: For veterinary point-of-care use only. Results should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical signs and other diagnostic tests.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes a sandwich fluorescence immunoassay format:
- Capture Antibody: Monoclonal anti-CPIV antibodies immobilized on the test strip bind CPIV antigen present in the sample.
- Fluorescent Detection: A second antibody conjugated with fluorescent nanoparticles binds to the captured CPIV antigen, forming an antibody-antigen-antibody complex.
- Signal Measurement: A handheld fluorescence reader quantifies the signal intensity, providing qualitative results (Positive/Negative) within 10 minutes.
Key Features:
- High Sensitivity: Detects low levels of CPIV antigen (LoD: 1.0×10³ TCID50/mL).
- No Cross-Reactivity: Specific to CPIV (no interference from other common canine respiratory pathogens).
- User-Friendly: Minimal sample preparation required; compatible with fresh clinical samples.
For accurate results, collect samples during acute infection and avoid excessive mucus or blood contamination.
