Product Description
- INTENDED USE
The Canine Relaxin Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the early detection and confirmation of pregnancy in dogs by measuring relaxin hormone levels in serum or plasma. This test enables veterinarians and breeders to:
- Confirm pregnancy as early as 20-25 days post-breeding (vs. 45+ days for ultrasound)
- Differentiate true pregnancy from pseudopregnancy
- Monitor high-risk pregnancies by tracking relaxin trends
- Support breeding management decisions
Note: For veterinary use only. Not validated for other species.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
This test utilizes a sandwich fluorescence immunoassay methodology:
- Capture Phase:
- Anti-relaxin antibodies are immobilized on the test strip
- Canine relaxin in the sample binds to these antibodies
- Detection Phase:
- Fluorescent nanoparticle-conjugated antibodies bind to the captured relaxin
- Forms an antibody-relaxin-antibody “sandwich” complex
- Measurement:
- Fluorescence intensity is quantified by a portable reader
- Results are available in <15 minutes with sensitivity of 0.5 ng/mL
Key Features:
- Breed-specific calibration (accounts for size variations)
- No cross-reactivity with progesterone or other hormones
- Quantitative results allow monitoring of relaxin trends
- Stable at room temperature (no cold chain required)
*Optimal performance requires serum/plasma collection during recommended gestational windows (20-30 days post-LH surge).*
