Product Description
- INTENDED USE
The Veterinary HbA1c Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for quantitative measurement of glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) in canine and feline whole blood samples. This test provides veterinarians with:
- Long-term glycemic monitoring (reflects average blood glucose levels over 2-3 months)
- Diagnosis and management of diabetes mellitus in pets
- Differentiation between stress hyperglycemia and chronic diabetes
- Therapeutic monitoring for diabetic patients undergoing insulin treatment
Note: For veterinary diagnostic use only. EDTA-anticoagulated whole blood is recommended.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes a dual-antibody sandwich fluorescence immunoassay method:
- Sample Preparation: Whole blood is lysed to release hemoglobin, including HbA1c
- Capture Phase: HbA1c specifically binds to anti-HbA1c monoclonal antibodies immobilized on the test strip
- Detection Phase: A second antibody conjugated with fluorescent nanoparticles binds to the captured HbA1c
- Quantification: Fluorescence intensity measured by a portable reader correlates directly with HbA1c concentration
Key Features:
- Species-Specific: Validated for both canine and feline HbA1c measurement
- High Precision: CV <5% with detection range of 3-15% HbA1c
- Minimal Interference: Unaffected by common hemoglobin variants or short-term glucose fluctuations
- Rapid Results: Complete analysis in <10 minutes
*For optimal performance: Use fresh EDTA whole blood (within 4 hours of collection) and maintain test cartridges at 2-8°C before use.*
