Rapid test for the diagnosis of diarrhea caused by C. perfringens, based on the immunochromatographic method. This pathogen:

– causes diarrhea, a rapid rise of temperature and inflammation of the intestines it spreads quickly throughout the herd leading to significant economic losses.

Test detects fragments of bacteria and α-toxin which is produced by them, test specificity is based on the fact of physiological presence of bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract. Test does not show a positive result in healthy animals, the positive result is obtained in case of exceeding the limit of pathogenic bacteria i.e. above 4,125×106 CFU/ml The individual test may be performed in order to determine health status of the whole herd.

It enables to plan the preventive measures.
