INTENDED USE

The Bovine Viral Diarhhoea Antigen Rapid Test Device is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of Bovine Viral Diarrhoea Virus (BVDV) Antigen in bovine serum/plasma.

Pinciple

The BVDV Antigen Rapid Test Device (Serum/Plasma) is a qualitative, membrane based immunoassay with a double antigen system for the detection of BVDV antibody in serum or plasma. The membrane is coated with recombinant BVDV antigen. During testing, antibody to BVDV, if present in serum or plasma specimen react with BVDV antigen coated colloidal gold particles in the test strip. The mixture then migrates upward on the membrane chromatographically by capillary action and reacts with recombinant BVDV antigen on the membrane in the test line region. If the specimen contains antibody to Bovine Viral Diarrhoea Virus, a colored line will appear in the test line region indicating a positive result. If the specimen does not contain antibody to Bovine Viral Diarrhoea Virus, a colored line will not appear in the test line region indicating a negative result. To serve as a procedural control, a colored line will always appear in the control line region indicating that proper volume of specimen has been added and membrane wicking has occurred.
