Product Description
- INTENDED USE
The Veterinary TOXO Ag Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of Toxoplasma gondii antigens in feline serum, plasma, or whole blood. This test enables:
- Early diagnosis of acute toxoplasmosis in cats, the definitive host of T. gondii
- Differentiation between active infection and past exposure (antigen detection indicates active replication)
- Monitoring treatment efficacy in infected animals
- Screening of high-risk populations (e.g., immunosuppressed cats or multi-cat environments)
Note: For veterinary use only. Should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical signs and other diagnostic methods.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes a sandwich fluorescence immunoassay format with the following steps:
- Capture Phase:
- Monoclonal anti-TOXO antibodies are immobilized on the test strip
- TOXO antigens in the sample bind to these antibodies
- Detection Phase:
- Fluorescent nanoparticle-conjugated anti-TOXO antibodies form complexes with captured antigens
- Unbound materials are washed away
- Signal Measurement:
- A portable fluorescence reader quantifies the signal intensity
- Results are available in 15 minutes with a detection limit of 0.1 ng/mL
Key Features:
✔ High sensitivity – detects circulating antigen during early infection
✔ No prozone effect – accurate across wide antigen concentrations
✔ Species-specific – optimized for feline samples
✔ Stable signal – fluorescence detection minimizes interference from sample color or turbidity
Storage: Store test kits at 2-8°C. Bring to room temperature before use.
Sample Types: Serum (recommended), plasma, or whole blood (EDTA/heparin)
Interference: Hemolyzed or lipemic samples may affect results
