Product Description
The FPV Ag Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV) antigen in feline feces, vomitus, or serum. This test enables:
- Early diagnosis of FPV infection (feline distemper) with high sensitivity
- Rapid screening in multi-cat environments (shelters, catteries)
- Differentiation from other feline gastrointestinal diseases
- Monitoring of viral shedding during treatment
Note: For veterinary point-of-care use. Confirm positive results with PCR if needed.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes a sandwich fluorescence immunoassay format:
- Capture Phase: FPV antigens in samples bind to anti-FPV monoclonal antibodies immobilized on the test membrane
- Detection Phase: Fluorescent nanoparticle-conjugated antibodies form complexes with captured antigens
- Signal Amplification: The fluorescence reader detects emitted light at 620nm, with intensity proportional to antigen concentration
Key Features:
- Ultra-Sensitive: Detects as few as 10³ viral particles/gram feces
- Rapid: Provides results in 8-10 minutes
- Cross-Reactivity Free: No interference with canine parvovirus or other feline pathogens
- Stable: Fluorescent signal remains readable for 48 hours post-test
Specimen Collection Tips:
- Optimal detection window: 3-5 days post-infection
- Use fresh fecal samples (<24h old) for best results
- Liquid samples require centrifugation before testing
This test complements but does not replace vaccination status evaluation. Clinical correlation required.
