Product Description
- INTENDED USE
The FPV Ab Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the qualitative and semi-quantitative detection of antibodies against Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV) in feline serum, plasma, or whole blood. This test assists veterinarians in:
- Evaluating vaccination status by measuring protective antibody levels post-vaccination.
- Assessing immune protection in cats prior to high-risk exposures (e.g., catteries, shelters).
- Aiding diagnosis of FPV infection when paired with antigen testing (antibody rise supports recent infection).
Note: For veterinary use only. Results should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical signs and history.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes an indirect fluorescence immunoassay format:
- Antigen Coating: Recombinant FPV VP2 protein is immobilized on the test strip to capture FPV-specific antibodies.
- Sample Incubation: Feline sample (serum/plasma) is applied. If present, FPV antibodies bind to the antigen.
- Detection: A fluorescently labeled anti-feline IgG secondary antibody binds to captured FPV Ab.
- Result Interpretation: Fluorescence intensity is measured by a handheld reader:
- Positive: Signal above cutoff indicates protective antibody levels (typically ≥1:40 titer).
- Negative: No significant antibodies detected.
Key Features:
- Rapid: Results in 10 minutes.
- High Sensitivity: Detects low antibody titers (1:10 dilution).
- No Cross-Reactivity: Specific to FPV (no interference from other parvovirus antibodies).
*Store at 2–30°C. For optimal results, use fresh samples and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.*
