Product Description
- INTENDED USE
The fPL Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the quantitative measurement of feline pancreatic lipase (fPL) in cat serum or plasma. This in-clinic diagnostic tool enables veterinarians to:
- Diagnose pancreatitis with high specificity for feline patients
- Monitor disease progression and treatment response in cats with pancreatic disorders
- Differentiate pancreatic from non-pancreatic causes of gastrointestinal signs (e.g., vomiting, anorexia)
Note: For veterinary use only. Not intended for human or canine diagnostics.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes an advanced sandwich fluorescence immunoassay technology:
- Capture Phase:
- fPL in the sample binds to feline-specific anti-lipase antibodies immobilized on the test strip
- Detection Phase:
- A second antibody conjugated with fluorescent europium nanoparticles binds to the captured fPL
- Forms a stable “antibody-antigen-antibody” sandwich complex
- Measurement:
- Fluorescence intensity is quantified by a dedicated reader
- Provides quantitative results in 12-15 minutes with a detection range of 0.1-50 μg/L
Key Features:
- Feline-specific antibodies eliminate cross-reactivity with canine or human lipase
- Superior sensitivity detects subclinical pancreatitis (≥3.5 μg/L suggests pancreatitis)
- Stable fluorescent signal ensures reliable results unaffected by sample hemolysis or lipemia
For optimal performance, use fresh serum samples and follow recommended storage conditions for test components.
