Product Description
- INTENDED USE
The FeLV Ag Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) p27 antigen in feline whole blood, serum, or plasma. This test provides veterinarians with:
- Early screening for FeLV infection in symptomatic or at-risk cats
- Diagnostic support for persistent viremia (≥30 days post-exposure)
- Monitoring of disease progression in FeLV-positive cats
Note: For veterinary use only. Confirm positive results with additional testing (e.g., PCR) per clinical guidelines.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes a sandwich fluorescence immunoassay format:
- Capture Phase: Anti-FeLV p27 monoclonal antibodies immobilized on the test strip bind FeLV antigens in the sample
- Signal Generation: Fluorescent nanoparticle-conjugated detector antibodies form complexes with captured p27 antigen
- Optical Measurement: A portable reader quantifies fluorescence intensity at 620nm, providing:
- Semi-quantitative results (relative light units)
- Cutoff-index interpretation (positive/negative) in 10 minutes
Performance Characteristics:
- Sensitivity: Detects ≥5 ng/mL p27 antigen
- No prozone effect at high antigen concentrations
- Species-specific: No cross-reactivity with FIV or other retroviral antigens
*Store test cassettes at 2-30°C. Avoid hemolyzed samples for whole blood testing.*
