Product Description
- INTENDED USE
The Feline Cystatin C Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the quantitative measurement of Cystatin C in feline serum or plasma. This test provides veterinarians with:
- Early detection of renal dysfunction (superior to creatinine for identifying early-stage kidney disease)
- Monitoring of chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression
- Differentiation between renal and non-renal causes of azotemia
- Assessment of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) with higher accuracy than traditional markers
Note: For veterinary diagnostic use only in feline patients.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes a sandwich fluorescence immunoassay methodology:
- Capture Phase: Anti-feline Cystatin C antibodies immobilized on the test strip bind specifically to Cystatin C in the sample
- Detection Phase: Fluorescent nanoparticle-conjugated secondary antibodies form a sandwich complex with the captured analyte
- Signal Measurement: A dedicated fluorescence reader quantifies the signal intensity, which is directly proportional to Cystatin C concentration
Key Features:
- High Sensitivity: Detects as low as 0.05 mg/L
- Excellent Correlation: Shows >95% correlation with reference methods
- Rapid Results: Provides quantitative values in 10 minutes
- Species-Specific: Antibodies specifically target feline Cystatin C
- Minimal Interference: Resistant to common interferents (bilirubin, hemoglobin, lipids)
For optimal performance, use fresh serum/plasma samples and follow recommended storage conditions for reagents.
