Product Description
- INTENDED USE
The fNT-proBNP Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the quantitative measurement of N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in feline serum or plasma. This test provides veterinarians with a critical cardiac biomarker tool to:
- Detect early-stage heart disease (e.g., hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure)
- Differentiate cardiac vs. respiratory causes of clinical signs (e.g., dyspnea, lethargy)
- Monitor disease progression and therapeutic efficacy in cats with known cardiac conditions
- Support clinical decisions for diagnostic imaging (e.g., echocardiography)
Note: For veterinary diagnostic use only. Results should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical findings.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes a sandwich fluorescence immunoassay technology:
- Capture Phase: Anti-fNT-proBNP monoclonal antibodies are immobilized on the test strip to specifically bind the target peptide in the sample.
- Detection Phase: A second antibody conjugated with fluorescent nanoparticles binds to the captured NT-proBNP, forming an antibody-antigen complex.
- Quantification: The fluorescence intensity, measured by a portable reader, is directly proportional to the NT-proBNP concentration in the sample.
Key Features:
- High Sensitivity: Detects fNT-proBNP as low as 50 pmol/L
- Rapid Turnaround: Provides quantitative results in 10-15 minutes
- Species-Specific: Optimized for feline NT-proBNP with minimal cross-reactivity to canine or human variants
- Stable Performance: Fluorescent signal remains stable for post-test verification
For optimal results, use fresh EDTA plasma or serum samples and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
