Product Description
- INTENDED USE
The Canine CRYPTO Ag Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of Cryptosporidium antigens in canine fecal samples. This test provides veterinarians with a rapid and reliable diagnostic tool to:
- Screen for Cryptosporidium infection in dogs with clinical signs of diarrhea, weight loss, or immunosuppression.
- Monitor treatment efficacy and assess parasite clearance.
- Support differential diagnosis of gastrointestinal disorders (e.g., ruling out other parasitic or bacterial causes).
Note: For veterinary diagnostic use only.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes a sandwich fluorescence immunoassay method:
- Antigen Capture: Cryptosporidium antigens in the fecal sample bind to anti-Cryptosporidium antibodies immobilized on the test strip.
- Fluorescent Labeling: A second antibody conjugated with fluorescent nanoparticles binds to the captured antigens, forming an immune complex.
- Signal Detection: Fluorescence intensity is measured by a portable reader, providing qualitative results (Positive/Negative) within 10–15 minutes.
Key Features:
- High Sensitivity: Detects low levels of Cryptosporidium antigens (limit of detection: 5–10 ng/mL).
- No Cross-Reactivity: Specific to Cryptosporidium spp. (no interference from Giardia or other parasites).
- Stable Results: Fluorescence signals ensure consistent performance across different sample types (fresh, frozen, or preserved feces).
For optimal results, use fresh or properly stored fecal samples and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
