Product Description
- INTENDED USE
The cProg Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the quantitative measurement of progesterone in canine serum or plasma. This test provides veterinarians and breeders with a reliable tool to:
- Determine optimal breeding timing by tracking progesterone levels during estrus
- Monitor pregnancy progression and predict whelping dates
- Diagnose reproductive disorders (e.g., ovarian cysts, luteal insufficiency)
- Evaluate spay/neuter completeness in post-operative cases
Note: For veterinary diagnostic use only. Not for human testing.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes a competitive fluorescence immunoassay methodology:
- Sample Incubation: Canine serum/plasma is mixed with fluorescent-labeled progesterone conjugate
- Competitive Binding: Endogenous progesterone competes with the labeled conjugate for limited antibody binding sites on the test strip
- Signal Development: Fluorescence intensity is inversely proportional to progesterone concentration (higher progesterone = lower signal)
- Quantitative Analysis: A dedicated reader provides precise progesterone levels (0.5-60 ng/mL) within 10 minutes
Key Features:
- Breeding-specific thresholds: Clear interpretation for LH surge (2-3 ng/mL) and ovulation (5-8 ng/mL)
- High precision: CV <8% across measurable range
- Whole-blood compatible: Eliminates serum separation requirement
- Stable reagents: 24-month shelf life at 2-8°C
For optimal results, collect samples at consistent times (morning preferred) and avoid hemolyzed specimens.
