Product Description
- INTENDED USE
The CGIA Ag Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of Giardia-specific antigens in canine fecal samples. This test assists veterinarians in:
- Rapid diagnosis of active Giardia infections in dogs
- Differentiating parasitic diarrhea from other gastrointestinal disorders
- Monitoring treatment efficacy and post-therapy follow-up
- Screening asymptomatic carriers in kennels or multi-dog environments
Note: For veterinary point-of-care use. Results should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical signs and other diagnostic methods.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes a sandwich fluorescence immunoassay format with the following mechanism:
- Sample Application:
- Fecal extract is applied to the test device
- Giardia antigens (if present) bind to anti-Giardia monoclonal antibodies conjugated with fluorescent nanoparticles
- Lateral Flow:
- The antigen-antibody complex migrates along the strip
- Captured by immobilized anti-Giardia antibodies at the test line
- Detection:
- Fluorescence signal intensity at the test line is measured by a portable reader
- Results are available within 8-10 minutes
- Cut-off value: ≥5 ng/mL of Giardia-specific antigen
Key Features:
- High sensitivity (98.7%) and specificity (99.2%) compared to conventional microscopy
- No cross-reactivity with other common canine intestinal parasites
- Stable performance across various fecal consistencies (formed to diarrheic)
- Built-in control line validates test procedure integrity
Storage & Handling:
- Store test kits at 2-30°C
- Bring to room temperature before use
- Process samples immediately after collection for optimal results
