Product Description
- INTENDED USE
The CDV Ag Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) antigen in canine conjunctival swabs, nasal secretions, or whole blood/serum samples. This test provides veterinarians with:
- Early point-of-care diagnosis of active CDV infection
- Differential diagnosis of animals presenting with respiratory, neurological or gastrointestinal symptoms
- Monitoring of disease progression in infected dogs
- Outbreak management in kennels and shelters
Note: For veterinary diagnostic use only. Results should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical signs and other diagnostic methods.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes a sandwich fluorescence immunoassay format:
- Sample Application: The specimen is added to the sample well of the test device.
- Antigen Capture: CDV antigens bind to anti-CDV monoclonal antibodies conjugated with fluorescent nanoparticles.
- Complex Formation: The antigen-antibody complex migrates to the test line containing immobilized anti-CDV antibodies, forming a sandwich structure.
- Signal Detection: A portable fluorescence reader quantifies the signal intensity at 525 nm emission wavelength, with results available in 8-10 minutes.
Key Features:
- High Sensitivity: Detects as few as 10³ TCID50/mL of CDV
- Excellent Specificity: No cross-reactivity with other common canine pathogens (CPV, CAV, CIV)
- Stable Results: Fluorescent signal remains stable for up to 60 minutes post-test
- Room Temperature Storage: No cold chain requirements for test strips
For optimal performance:
- Use fresh samples whenever possible
- Process swab samples within 2 hours of collection
- Follow manufacturer’s instructions for proper sample handling and test procedure
