Product Description
- INTENDED USE
The Canine Cystatin C Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the quantitative determination of Cystatin C in canine serum, plasma, or urine samples. This test provides veterinarians with an essential tool for:
- Early detection of renal dysfunction (superior to creatinine for identifying early-stage kidney disease)
- Monitoring renal disease progression and treatment efficacy
- Differentiating prerenal azotemia from intrinsic renal failure
- Assessing glomerular filtration rate (GFR) as Cystatin C is a sensitive endogenous biomarker
Note: For veterinary diagnostic use only in canine patients.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes an advanced sandwich fluorescence immunoassay technology:
- Capture Phase: Canine Cystatin C in the sample binds to specific anti-Cystatin C antibodies immobilized on the test strip.
- Signal Generation: A second antibody conjugated with fluorescent europium nanoparticles binds to the captured Cystatin C, forming an antibody-antigen-antibody complex.
- Quantitative Measurement: The fluorescence intensity is measured by a dedicated reader, with signal intensity directly proportional to Cystatin C concentration.
Key Features:
- Exceptional Sensitivity: Detects as low as 0.05 mg/L, enabling early renal impairment detection
- High Precision: CV <5% across the measurable range (0.1-10 mg/L)
- Rapid Turnaround: Results in 10 minutes with minimal sample preparation
- Species-Specific: Antibodies specifically developed for canine Cystatin C
- Stable Fluorescent Signal: Time-resolved fluorescence technology minimizes background interference
For optimal results, use fresh samples and follow the recommended storage conditions for reagents. Store test kits at 2-8°C and protect from light.
