Product Description
- INTENDED USE
The cNT-proBNP Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the quantitative measurement of N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) in canine serum, plasma, or whole blood. This test provides veterinarians with a reliable cardiac biomarker for:
- Diagnosing congestive heart failure (CHF) in dogs
- Differentiating cardiac vs. respiratory causes of dyspnea or cough
- Monitoring disease progression and response to cardiac therapy
- Assessing prognosis in patients with mitral valve disease or dilated cardiomyopathy
Note: For veterinary use only. Results should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical signs and other diagnostic tests.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes a sandwich fluorescence immunoassay methodology:
- Capture Phase:
- The sample is applied to a test strip containing immobilized anti-cNT-proBNP antibodies
- cNT-proBNP in the sample binds to these capture antibodies
- Detection Phase:
- Fluorescent nanoparticle-conjugated detection antibodies bind to the captured cNT-proBNP
- This forms a “sandwich” immune complex
- Measurement:
- A portable fluorescence reader quantifies the signal intensity
- The signal is directly proportional to cNT-proBNP concentration in the sample
- Results are available in 10-15 minutes with a detection range of 100-5000 pmol/L
Key Features:
- High sensitivity: Detects early cardiac stress before clinical signs appear
- Excellent correlation with reference laboratory methods
- Stable at room temperature – no cold chain required for test strips
- Minimal sample volume (50 μL) required
For optimal results, follow manufacturer’s instructions regarding sample handling and test procedure.
