Product Description
- INTENDED USE
The CAV Ag Rapid Test is a fluorescence-based immunoassay designed for the qualitative detection of Canine Adenovirus (Types 1 and 2) antigens in canine ocular/nasal secretions, saliva, or serum. This test assists veterinarians in:
- Early diagnosis of infectious canine hepatitis (CAV-1) or respiratory infections (CAV-2)
- Differentiating viral vs. bacterial respiratory disease in kennel/crowd conditions
- Monitoring outbreak situations in shelters or breeding facilities
Note: For veterinary point-of-care use. Results should be interpreted with clinical symptoms.
- TEST PRINCIPLE
The test utilizes a lateral flow fluorescence immunoassay format:
- Sample Application: Specimen migrates to conjugate pad containing fluorescent nanoparticle-labeled anti-CAV monoclonal antibodies
- Antigen-Antibody Complex Formation: CAV antigens bind to fluorescent conjugates, then captured by anti-CAV antibodies at test line
- Fluorescence Reading: Test line signal intensity is measured by handheld analyzer (sensitivity: 1.5×10³ TCID50/mL) with:
- Positive: Signal-to-cutoff ratio ≥1.0
- Negative: Ratio <0.9
- Built-in Control: Anti-species IgG line validates test procedure
Key Features:
- Dual Detection: Simultaneously identifies CAV-1 and CAV-2 with 98.7% concordance vs. PCR
- Rapid: Results in 8 minutes (vs. 30+ minutes for traditional ELISA)
- Stable Storage: Fluorescent tags remain stable for 24 months at 2-30°C
Optimal performance requires fresh samples (within 2hrs of collection) for respiratory secretions.
